To further the CSCMP’s educational goals in the field of supply chain management, the Delaware Valley Roundtable (CSCMP-DVRT) is pleased to announce our 2012 Scholarship Program. This year the Roundtable will be awarding:

One scholarship for tuition reimbursement in the amount of $1200 to an undergraduate student interested in pursuing a career in supply chain or logistics management

Requirements

You must be a student pursuing a major, minor or concentration in logistics, supply chain, or a related field

You must be either enrolled at an accredited college or university located in the greater Delaware Valley or demonstrate residency from the region. If you can demonstrate residency from the region, you can be enrolled in an accredited college or university outside of the region. The greater Delaware Valley includes the following counties in Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania:

New Castle County	Cecil County	Atlantic County Burlington County Camden County Cape May County Cumberland County Gloucester County Mercer County Salem County	Berks County Bucks County Chester County Delaware County Montgomery County Philadelphia County

Anticipated date of graduation is after September 2012
You must be a student in good standing or higher (through end of most recent semester)
Complete the application form and essay (see topic choices below)
One letter of recommendation from a faculty member
Original transcript through end of most recent semester

Essay Requirement

Essay Requirement: Maximum 8 pages, double spaced, Times Roman 12 pt. font and one inch margins. Choose one of the following topics:

Topic #1 Sustainability – “Define the concept of sustainability within the context of supply chain management, and address some of the main challenges supply chains face in this area as they look into their long term future.”
Topic #2 Risk - “What are some of the major sources of risk along a supply chain? Explain how supply chains can most likely achieve long lasting success, even while facing these risks.”
Topic #3 Technology - “Discuss advances in technology that have benefited the supply chain. From greater collaboration and visibility, to efficiency gains and security risk mitigation, how are organizations today leveraging new technologies to better manage their supply chain?”

The CSCMP-DVRT Scholarship Selection Committee reserves the right to make the final selection of the winning applicant based upon your submitted information, including all required documentation. Each application will be given fair and equal consideration. The recipient will be selected without regard to race, color, sex, religion, or national origin.

The CSCMP-DVRT Scholarship Committee will present its recommendation to the Executive Board for final review and approval after interviews with the three selected finalists.

The Education Chair of the CSCMP-DVRT Roundtable will inform all applicants of the decisions and award.
